BACKGROUND

Fife Elderly Forum Executive was established in 1990, it is the umbrella organisation for elderly forums in Fife. It offers information, advice and advocacy on older peoples issues.

We are a constituted organisation with charitable status, currently funded by both Fife Council and NHS Fife.

Members of the executive represent the forum on some key committees, responsible for developing and improving older people’s services.

Mission Statement

Fife Elderly Forum is committed to improving the quality of life of elderly people in Fife, and recognises that whilst engaged in this task it is of utmost importance that elderly people can make informed and appropriate choices about how they live, and are able to retain their independence whilst services are provided.

Aims

Fife Elderly Forum seeks to achieve a difference by:

  • Campaigning for services for all elderly people in Fife.
  • Ensuring that elderly people are aware of their entitlements.
  • Seeking opportunities for elderly people to have active and fulfilling lives.
  • Promoting the benefits of elderly people having an active part in the life of their communities.
  • Identifying the specific needs and interests of elderly people, and ensuring that this information is made available to policy makers and those responsible for implementing and delivering services.

Panel Members Required

We are currently seeking User Panel members to establiish 2 groups one in the Newport/Tayport area and the other in Cowdenbeath/Lochgelly.
